How can I grade and assess students work in a PBL context?
Assessments can be done throughout the project and you can plan for it regularly using rubrics which can help with this.
I thought PBL was just for maths, is that true?
No. In fact, PBL helps teachers incorporate all subjects content as they would be used in real life scenarios.
How can I keep students working independently?
You can use a focus wall to track progress as a class. This will help students learn the jargon and process of a PBL.
